Is the anesthesia used safe?

We perform breast surgery under general anesthesia so that you are unconscious during the procedure. A board-certified anesthesiologist supervises you to ensure your safety.

What type of incisions are made for a breast augmentation?

There are four options for incision: around the nipple and areolas, along the fold just below the breasts, within the underarm and from the navel. Your individual circumstances, goals and body type will determine the most appropriate incision site.

Should the implants be placed above or below the muscle tissue?

You can choose to have your implant below the pectoral muscle and breast tissue or only under the breast tissue. Under the tissue and muscle will give a more natural appearance for women who are slender.

Fuller-figure women may choose to have the implant below the breast tissue only. Dual planing can then be chosen to improve the breast shape.

What is capsular contracture?

When an unfamiliar substance like a breast implant enters the body, your immune system produces fibrosis cells and collagen fibres, which surround the implant. Though a natural reaction, the fibres can create a hard coating called capsular contracture.

It happens most often 4-8 months post-surgery, making your aftercare of utmost importance.

What can I do to minimise the chance of capsular contracture?

Any risk is minimised by following postoperative instructions. Our trained breast care specialist will show you how to perform the self-massage that will keep your implant feeling natural and staying healthy.
